Bast or Bastet, the Cat Goddess, is an ancient solar and war Goddess worshipped since the Second Dynasty. Her name means devourer. As a protector, she was seen as defender of the pharaoh and Ra gaining her the titles Lady of Flame and Eye of Ra.
